Assidoscatei is a piece for a soloist and fixed media. The soloist’s setup contains an acoustic drum set and two MIDI pads. The two MIDI pads control two distinct sound sets. One set contains electronic drum sounds recorded from the Behringer 808, and the other set plays back sounds recorded in SuperCollider. All of the sound files are played back and manipulated in MaxMSP. The fixed media was created from SuperCollider using distortion, frequency modulation, and amplitude modulation and then imported into Reaper, in order to stitch together sections. There is no score for this work as the soloist is intended to improvise the entire piece.
